Louis Berrios, PhD
I’m a microbial ecologist with training in bacteriology, molecular genetics, and community ecology. I received my PhD in Biology from the University of South Carolina in 2021 (focusing mostly on bacteria-plant interactions), and then I joined the Peay lab at Stanford as an NSF PRFB Fellow to research the ways that bacteria, mycorrhizal fungi, and plants interact. Combined, my research program applies both field and lab experiments to refine our understanding of positive, multipartite interactions between microbes and plants. If you’re also interested in plant–microbe interactions (especially the sort that involve bacteria, mycorrhizal fungi, and plants), then send me an email so that we can connect and collaborate (berriosl@stanford.edu).
